   I heard the news report but have not heard the specifics as to why he is not returning.
Given his history, I seriously doubt this is over. I can see him in uniform by the second preseason game.

Niners win the west, then one and done in the playoffs.

   I get the feeling this time he means it.I think the healing process didn't go the way he expected from his last injury and he figured enough is enough. I mean what does he have to prove to anyone at this point in his life.My advise walk away and stay away.Enjoy the rest of your life while you can. Much easier for Favre to walk away because he played so well last year and he had redemption for what happened with the Jets.

CapnQ i'm not sure i agree with that statement. It's true he played well for most of the year, but to end a HOF career on a pick six. His last play from scrimmage, a touchdown returned for a touchdown, to end the season, play off run, and career.
I say it's leverage for more money. I still say he reappears in the second preseason game, and with a new more lucrative contract.

Favre is a family man and he has made enough money than he know what to do with it. I really think it would really tarnish his leagacy if this was just a ploy to get more moeny. Sure a perfect ending would be him winning it all but this was close enough.

   If the Vikings don't start the first half winning............I wouldn't be surprised to see Brett return for the second half. I don't think he wants to truly play a full season (Roger Clements). JMHO
