Well, A victory tonight (Tex down 4 top 9) and we're looking at 7 gms out. Maybe getting this down to either 4 or 5 gm by the end of the month. Hmmmmm?

How they are only 7 out blows me away. Bravo to the Green & Gold and all hail King of the (Ca)Hill!!! But I ain't taking the bait.

BUT.......1 for 10 with RISP, but certainly what a huge "1" it was by our scrappy, speedy shortstop.

We have only 4 home runs in all of August. Four. Quatro. One more than 3, but not 5. It is actually laughable.

In the "what could have been" category, Cahill came within one hit and one inning of doing something that NOBODY has ever done in the history of the game. Go 21 starts of going 5 or more innings and allowing only 6 hits or less. (How anyone was able to compile that stat is beyond me). He joined my ATF pitcher Nolan Ryan last start tying at 20.

Got some formidable foes coming up but I'm still not takin' it!!!

   Three straight wins when they were down and dead.
Kudos to them for keeping the season interesting.
Nobody wants to face their pitching. Be good to get Bailey back.

Coco Crisp has become the best addition to the team this year.
Too bad he missed the first third of the year by breaking a finger on the last day of Spring training. That really hurt them.

If only they had a DH. If only...

FUCK, BUCK, you SUCK!

Bottom 8 runner on 3rd, 1 out. Drawn in infield and you can't even put it in play, or hit a fly fall! Hell, pinch hit his for his ass at least. A handfull of players must have better than a .180 avg in the dugout.

I repeat. Buck is in the lineup! WTF Geren! DUMB-ASS manager!!!!!!

A gift run by the 2nd baseman gives us the go ahead run!

A nice win and pitching performance. Our boys are aces.
Another sac fly & Cust has a rare meaningful HR. Be still my heart.

We are destined to be a .500 club and under single digits out by season's end. Not bad but one more year of what might have been if the team were healthy (3 more DLs and we break our record), Beane had gone after one bat, and we had a different manager!

Nice to play spoiler though. And I am relishing our starting 5's performance each game. Can't remember when someone got shelled.

   I will say this, other teams are Dog Day swooning and we are steadily improving, riding the back of Coco Crisp and amazing overall pitching. Baserunning is improving too IMHO. An A's DOUBLE STEAL, AM I DREAMING??

We all know adnauseum that the team needs a better cleanup hitter and number 5 too to get the offense to a level that can win consistently. Is he coming off the waiver wire or out of the farm system?? Does Billy Beane have anything up his sleeve?? I'm ready to be surprised.

A week ago it looked dim, now there is more light coming through the bathroom window.

   I blame our so-called power hitters like our DH more than Breslow. We had Price against the wall and needed to score a load of runs more.

It was an opportunity in August to move up to 6 games out.

Damn Billy, why do we still have such a weak lineup in the power spots??

Tough loss....can't really complain. We played well, battled against one of the best pitchers and best teams in the league. Six games out would've been nice....but to what end gentlemen, to what end I say!

   our defense, especially Crisp and Davis, along with our infield turning all those double plays; as well as Pennington's acension is to be lauded.

The second best Suzuki in baseball, the from Hawaii, sure looks tired to me. Geren's learning curve is still steep IMO. Hope the investment pays off and the team is still here when it does.

Four one-run games and split series against a potential WS contender. Not bad but indicative of the reason whywe are not. Power.

Had our best recent hitter up with the tying run on 2nd and two outs in the 9th. Of course, this time he decides to strike out.

Oh well.

However, I read that Henry Rodriguez hit 102 mph on the gun in a 1-2-3 8th. Ouch. Awesome.
