Where do you get no power? In 2008,2009 he hit 22 and 24 hr. He is a good ball player. A much better player then Aaron Rowand for example.

   The only thing I can think of is another bat for the "who's hot" game. The move doesn't hurt and could possibly help if Ross goes hot.
With how the team is built the move makes sense, although it may amount to nothing but a hill of beans.
To get that one big bat they're going to need to lose Rowland and Zito's money. Maybe in two years they can go and get a bopper.

I consider 30HR per year a power hitter, like Pujols

Ross is hitting 1 HR every 10 games, or 1 every 40 AB this season

This is not a Jeff Kent-type impact player

Is he better than nate Sherholz? Of course he is and thats whose spot he'd be taking.

None of it really matters anyway because the team was built around pitching and the pitching has collapsed.

I'm afraid that 30hr mark could be a thing of the past. Unless your on the juice or you play in a bandbox, that mark may be hard to reach. Huff has 21 right now. Are you saying Ross, who plays cf by the way, can't help?

They did it mainly to prevent San Diego from getting him to replace Tony Gwynn Jr since he is on the disabled list.

   Mmm, didn't know Tony G went on the dl...

starting pitching is a sink hole...if Timmy and his dad had some kind of argument, they need to patch things up and start talking to each other again...one of the shows, probably knbr or comcast, said last year they talked all the time, this year...not so much
