A bad time to play bad ball, but the Pads also dropped a series to juggernauts Milwaukee. It's funny to look at the Phils and Cards scrambling for the wild card. Knew they were going to get solid through the stretch.

Do you think the Reds can keep this pace up?

Believe it was columnist Tim Brown that said of the six teams vying for four spots, that the Giants and Cards are the ones outside looking in.

Last year was a truly special year for the starters (with horrible offense), and I never thought that would be duplicated, but without the top three keeping the Gs in games (Jonathan and MadBum have at least done that), and without another bat getting hot (Panda? Ross? Beuller?), it's a tough road.

Still, stranger things have happened.

   Cain starts tonight. He shut the Reds out in Cinny earlier in the year, Cinny is a hitters park and at&t is a pitcher park.

Follow that logic and he'll probabaly get rocked!!!

The game in Cinny was part of the awesome run he had earlier in the year.

During the game the other night they took a poll...Who is now the Giants ace? I forgot who won, or fell asleep...My vote is for Wilson who wasn't in the poll.

Cain is one of my fantasy pitchers, so is Jamie Garcia (sorry guys) and I have Wainwright pitching tommorrow. I also have Wilson.

Maybe because I'm unemployed & gambling my last paycheck or I've been drinking too much orange kool-aid but I believe that the Gmen will sweep the Reds.

   Sandoval hit 4 lasers tonite. He also had the best slide of the year taking the hand away and then putting it on the bag after the glove had been lifted and getting the safe call.

If in April someone had said Torres and sandoval would combine for 23 homers by the last week of August you would have Sandoval would have about 17 of them right? If someone would have said "of the 23 homers Torres will have 13 and Pablo 10" you would have thought he had been drinking too much.

Cain throws a great 8. We need some more great 8's. Still, no way unless Lincecum starts to pitch well. I think the "mechanics" thing is pure BS. I think he is nurding a sore wing and trying to picth through it. I've seen the Giants pull this BS too many times over the years. 'Oh its all mechanics" and then 2 weeks after the season the guy gets the knife.

Cain. Dominant. One mistake pitch (Rolen's two-out hit) away from 8 shutout innings. Votto essentially did Zippo.

Huff! Another Panda sighting (everything he hit was painful for the ball). Four hits from Freddy. Cody Ross, welcome, and nice smash. Believe the only guy who didn't get a hit was Uribe.

If they can somehow turn back the clock to July, this will get very interesting.

was hoping freddy got a 5th hit. we need his bat to do well for the offense to click. a far superior defender than fontenot. his glove is just as valuable.

if panda keeps regaining his form, the starters give us real quality starts and the other vets do what they've been doing, this will be a very exciting 5+ weeks of giants baseball!

Oh Good God.

Not like you're going to be happy with a snatching-defeat-from-the-jaws-of-victory loss, ever, but who in their right mind thought this team could come back from 10-1?

Five errors (Panda air mails another one in the ninth), bleech.

The Rockies also came back from a 10-1 deficit to beat the Braves 12-10.

Strong drink time.
