"Giants-DBacks"

Bochy criticizes Sandoval AND Lincecum for not being in good enough shape. After scoring 38 runs in three games (while only winning 2) they get shut out.

After suffereing with no offense and having great pitching for 2 years all of a sudden the pitching sucks ass just as they put a decent offense on the field.

I give up. I have enough other aggravation in my life.

I dare one of you young sports bar jocks to call me a frontrunner. I've been living and dying the orange-black for 51 years now. I need a vacation. See ya in March.

Don't be a typical Giants fan and give up while the season is still going on and there is a chance for the Giants to finish in the hunt for a playoff spot. I have been a Giants fan for a long time too through the 100 loss season and the good years. I'm sticking with them and believing they can still do something good this year.

Perhaps it is time to give Lincecum an extra day rest and start a different pitcher in his spot. I wonder if they might bring up Dontrell Willis as a starter this year and see if he might be able to help the pitching staff.
Go Giants Go Giants Go Giants

'The Dog Days of August' are almost over. There's still 5 weeks to play. And the team is only a 1/2 game back in the wild card.

I won't bail on 'em, mainly because there's a lot of time left and nobody knows WTF is going to happen. The Phils got swept at home by lowly Houston (thank you very much), and pretty much everybody is showing a little weariness in the dog days. Goodness, the Padres don't have a winning record for their last ten games.

That said, the game one loss and now a 9-2 deficit in game two to the last place DBacks, this is a glutton plate of ugly. Losing is one thing, but if you can't even compete with cellar dwellers, you sure as hell don't deserve a postseason spot. Aggravating.

Still a lot of days left, but this Jekyll and Hyde crap is not good for the stomach.

I know what you mean, that is why when I watch a Giants game I always have my bottle of Pepto-Bismal next to me.

I didn't know being a realist meant you were whiny.

The pitching has collapsed. When pitching collapses absolutely nothing else you do matters. Not one starter can be counted on for a decent performance at this point. Zito has reverted to the form that made us all love him so much from 2007 through 2009. Lincecum has mechanics problems. Thats what the Giants call a sore arm these days.

I know what mean, but there are 30+ games to play. Wild card is still possible. I've been a Giants fan for 45years. This team is so streaky. Just when things look bad(like now), they'll win 12 of 15 games( I hope). Lonetree, I do feel you frustration! Go Giants!

The Giants are "streaky"...I think losers is a more apt description! No championship since they were in NY...and for those keeping track that was over 50 YEARS AGO! I actually think it is something in the air in SF to keep them losing...come on the D-backs have won..the Marlins for god's sake..the Red Sox, etc. I would like to see them win a WC, but I don't live and die for team sports.

The way they are pitching it doesn't matter who they play. Who would have ever thought the starting pitching could go in to total freefall like this. For two years at least once in every trip through the rotation some poor bastard would get beat 1-0 or 2-1.
Right now everytime though the rotation there are 2 games where the starters give the team absolutely no chance.

Manny in 2010 is why I didn't want the Giants to give him $45 million for 2 years in 2009.

Absolutely true, and one of them is the 2-time Cy Young winner. Without the starting pitching giving this better (and streaky) lineup a chance to win, doesn't much matter. Last year was an aberration of starting dominance: couple that pitching with this year's lineup and we're not worrying about making the postseason.

However, it is interesting to see the Pads falter to the Brewers and the Phils to the Astros at home. Lots of wear and tear showing up on everybody's treads. Hence, I'm not throwing in the towel.

No argument there. His middle name is DH, and we've got enough water buffaloes in the outfield.
