"Indian Buffet"

I was dragged by friends to an Indian buffet place. I got hooked! Any suggestions which place to try near Walnut Creek to Sacramento? Spice is nice!

One of my brothas live in Fremont. He brought me and some other friends of ours to Bombay Garden. Awesome! Long drive but we were partyin' so it was good. I'm relocating to the Walnut Creek area and often visits towns upto Sac that's why I want to know any good place with spice.

I love Indian food. Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala are my faves! If you gave me a plate of each though, I don't think I'd be able to tell you which was which.

Clay Oven in Livermore was great, though I haven't been there in a while. I think I need to go again soon.

Anarkalee in Pleasanton, better when it was Sugandh. When Anarkalee first took over, they tried to make it without the lunch buffet which used to be great. They finally caved in to the demand and added brought back the buffet. It's a little spicier than most Indian buffets I've tried, I suspect because of the Pakistani influence. It's okay, but not as good as before.

Cafe Tandoor in the Marketplace in San Ramon is also good, went there a couple of weeks ago.

India Garden in Pleasanton, really good, need to go here again, too!

If it weren't for the last minute, a lot of things wouldn't get done...

I always ask the Indians where the best is, I keep hearing there is a place in Berkely that is the best. It's out if my neighborhood, so I don't remember the name.

No, I mean the Indians, from India. How's the Indian buffet in Cleveland? Should I have said South West Asian? I don't get get it and don't want to. What do you call Indians, from India?

Seriously. A very good Indian restaurant in Sac is in midtown on 21st St. It's called Bombay Bar & Grill. Great Indian food, inexpensive and nice bar with a happy hour. If you haven't had it, I highly recommend their chicken vindaloo. Oh, they also have belly dancers on Friday and Saturday nights!

Another one is in Natomas. India Oven. Good food, good lunch and dinner buffet and inexpensive as well. Just no bar or belly dancers.

Curry club, Folsom. Bombay Bistro, Roseville. There is a place next to a Massage at Madison/Fair oaks,-Fair oaks/Citrus Heights, pretty good. All just ranked OK by Indians, from India, that I have asked.

Went to Divan in San Ramon yesterday, it must be new, although I don't remember what was in that location previously.

Based on the sign that said "Indo Pak" I guessed that it was an Indian/Pakistani type cuisine. It was fairly crowded when I walked in, with a couple of large groups seated already.

The buffet looked pretty good and everything I tried was pretty tasty.
The chicken biryani had large chunks of boneless chicken. Chicken tandoori was also good, lamb stew, some type of meatball in what looked like a tikka masala or butter chicken type sauce was excellent.

My favorite was the fish pakora, really, really good, I went back for thirds and had to wait for them to refill the pan!

A little disappointed that there was no naan, maybe you had to order and pay for that separately.

Definitely worth checking out again.

The Paki Buffet at Pak Wan in Hayward blows away all Indian buffets in the Bay. That's why it's packed to the gills every Sunday.

Shalimar locations are hit or miss. Fremont much better then the SunnyVale location.
